Attached is a writeup of last weekend’s NACSO event in Richardson hosted by Kingdom Kickboxing, specifically the NACSO Welterweight Championship match between Doyle Gayler and Jorge Peralta. Click on Read More.

With Memorial Day looming, most Texans were looking to rest & relax in celebration of the advent of Summer. Doyle Gayler defies the ‘norm’ in many respects, and Saturday May 25th was no different for one of the most prolific amateur kickboxers in the State. A capacity crowd gathered at The Fightatorium in Richardson to witness Gayler add to his already impressive fighter’s resume. The event was the North American Combative Sports Organization’s (NACSO) first-ever Title bout; a scheduled 5-rounder for the “NACSO U.S. Elite Welterweight Championship”. Gayler’s opponent was a very game Mexican national from Mexico City, Jorge Peralta. Fighting in the U.S. under the guidance of John Garcia, Peralta displayed mettle, but in the end was not enough to go the distance with Gayler. Displaying mettle in a class all his own, Gayler stunned Peralta several times during the bout, prompting standing-eight counts from Referee Bobby “The Heat” Stovall (including twice in the first round). With little more than 30 seconds elapsed in the 4th round, Garcia chose to protect Peralta at the end of yet another eight-count, and the match was concluded. With that, Gayler added the NACSO Elite U.S. Welterweight Title to his Lightweight U.S. Title from TACKA, and upped his overall amateur kickboxing record to an impressive 39 wins & 6 losses. At the official announcement at the end of the bout, both Stovall (the first Texas Lightweight Champion) and Steve Goin (former Hawaiian Welterweight Champion) presented Gayler with his championship belt. Gayler is trained by his father, Mike “Red” Gayler at Sifu Tony Jordan’s studio in Garland, Texas.
