Steven “Ocho” Peterson earns Legacy FC 135 title; Jason Sampson and Levi Mowles also win as part of AXS TV main card

DALLAS, TX – Some of DFW’s top fighters were dropping bombs at the Bomb Factory last Friday night as the venue played host to Legacy Fighting Championship 56. Winning his sixth fight in a row, local boy Steven Peterson achieved a lifelong dream in the main event, winning the Legacy FC bantamweight title by fourth round submission over midwestern MMA fighter Manny Vasquez. Staying true to form, “Ocho” was aggressive from the start in this one, swinging for the fences and hunting for the submission. It finally came in the championship rounds as he took his opponent’s and back under the neck for the submission. The win brings the once-hated, now-cheered champion’s record up to 14-4 with even brighter times surely ahead.

Elsewhere on the main card Jason Sampson returned to action with a unanimous decision win over the always durable Ryan Hollis. Brandon Quick disciple Levi Mowles got the biggest win of his career with a split decision win over UFC vet Edwin Figueroa while J.C. Cottrell continues his own winning ways with a decision win over Next Generation’s Cody Walker. Bilal Williams and undefeated Miles Johns completed the main card with wins over Sean Holden and Eliazar Rodriguez respectively.
