Relson Gracie run tournament series rooted in consistency

SAN ANTONIO, TX – On Saturday, January 31st the Gracie Grappling Cup returns to bring the latest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament to San Antonio. Run by Josh Lauber and Michael Campos out of of Relson Gracie San Antonio, GGC as a tournament series aims to consistently provide for a fun and wholesome competition atmosphere.

We started our event, the Gracie Grappling Cup, to provide a quality event in and close to San Antonio. We wanted to provide rules, rooted from Helio Gracie, that would protect the competitor and still provide entertaining matches.”

Having been around since 2010, Gracie Grappling Cup has held most of its events in San Antonio, but they’ve also ventured out to both Waco and Tyler. They want to focus on growing in San Antonio but do plan on branching out again.

“The level of competition and how fast the sport is growing. Texas is big but our community is still small town feel, much like San Antonio! Everyone supports each other and helps the sport grow. We think it’s great!

Our next tournament will be January 31st at San Antonio College. Competitors can look for more of the same from us, which is support for our grappling community and us striving to provide a quality event. We have tried different things to improve but one thing keeps us going and that’s listening to our community and supporters. We don’t like to claim we are perfect and always listen to our feedback and aim to fine tune and make better….just like Jiu-Jitsu!”

Thank you TXMMA for always being the medium for our community and supporting all our local gyms and competitors!”
