Tony Tipton and Albert Hughes lead deep squad to $1,000 team prize
Large teams showed us as well to compete for the $1,000 team prize. Over 100 teams showed up to the event making Europa without a doubt one of the premier events of the year once again for Texas grappling. At the end of the day Genesis Jiu-Jitsu made a statement in putting on their best performance in years to win first place. The winning team scored a total of 214 points. Alvarez BJJ would come in second with 115 followed by Bastos BJJ with 75 and Next Generation with 66 points.
On the women’s side Laura Heiman of Paragon won the absolute with Valarie Taylor and Gabriella Muller coming in 2nd and 3rd place. Other impressive performances included Petya Bastos, Montana Stewart, Karen Kovach and Miriam Villar.
