BJJ Revolution’s Jeff Messina demonstrates how to perform the flower sweep

 

Houston, TX, March 26, 2014 – Jeff Messina is the head instructor of Revolution Dojo. The second degree black belt under Rodrigo Medeiros has more than 15 years of experience training in BJJ. In addition to being a well-regarded Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor Messina is also a member of the United States Armed Forces also and most recently served his country just last year.

Jeff Messina’s teaching style is a direct reflection of his Carlson Gracie lineage.  His students learn jiu-jitsu concepts that focus on simplicity and effectiveness. The results are seen in the multitude of accolades his school and students have achieved competing locally and at the highest levels of tournament competition.

In this edition of TXMMA’s Technique of the Week Professor Messina demonstrates how to properly execute a flower sweep. This is one of Messina’s favorite sweeps because of its simplicity and high rate of success.  He has included footage hitting the flower sweep in several competitions along with the technique demonstration.
