Bellator 107 to feature Cheick Kongo’s second Bellator fight; Three Texans also appearing on Friday’s fight card
Taking place at the WinStar World Casino, the event features this season’s heavyweight tournament finals between longtime UFC veteran-turned Bellator fighter Cheick Kongo and Australian import Peter Graham along with an appearance by former bantamweight season winner Joe Warren but the the rest of the card features some notable appearances by Texas MMA fighters as well.
First up on the televised card is Derek “The Stallion” Campos. Fighting out of Team Mohler in Coppell, the 25 year old lightweight is currently riding the wave of a three-fight win streak and will be looking for his second win in a row in Bellator after beating Brandon Girtz at Bellator 96 this past June. Campos will be taking on Enland’s Martin Stapleton, a fighter who should be motivated after losing his Bellator debut to Saad Awad at Bellator 101 this past September. Stapeton had won 8 in a row prior to that fight so look for him to try and bring it to the Texas native on SPIKE TV main card.
Also joining Campos on the Bellator 107 card is his Team Mohler teammate Chris “Lionheart” Jones. Fighting on the SPIKETV.com prelim undercard, Jones will be taking on debut fighter Robert White. Chris will be looking to use this fight to rebound from his KO loss to Rey Trujillo at Legacy FC 19 and get back to the form that had him winning his past 7 in a row prior to 2013.
