DALLAS, TX, September 28, 2013 – Ever since his pro MMA debut back in September 2012 Damon Jackson has been going non-stop to get to that “next level.” As a wrestler throughout college (Missouri Valley, c/o 2012) he was able to achieve NAIA All-American status and after little over a year in training MMA, his new goal involved achieving all the top accolades in this sport as well.

“I’ll always be ready for a fight and push whoever I’m competing against. I fight because I love competing, I love the one on one competition, I love that all the attention is on you and the pressure of knowing that at the end of the night you have no one to blame but yourself for the outcome of the fight. My family is always in the back of my head, my wife and I have two daughters and this is my main source of income. It’s added pressure but more motivation to prepare and always be ready.”

The 25 year old Jackson will be stepping back into the cage on October 11th at Legacy Fighting Championship 24. He’ll be taking on DFW native Javier Obregon (Team Lutter) is he looks to bring his record up to an undefeated 7-0. Obregon is a seasoned veteran with some solid wins on his record but Damon has done everything he can to prepare for what he might bring to the table.

“I stay in the gym (Octagon MMA) year around, so shape is never an issue I have put a lot of time in all aspects of my game and am excited to show the fans my versatility and that hard work does pay off! Coming from wrestling helps a lot because you never know when they might call your name to a mat so I am always ready to snap into my zone and lose focus of everything else around me and get lost in the fight. This time will be no different and the fight will end with my hand up with a win.”

“Thank you Octagon MMA for the perpetration for this fight, Oren from KOReps, Ammo To Go, Grips Athletics, Medical Center Pharmacy, Indian Nation Wholesale and to all the fans reading this thank you all for the support without you these fights would not happen.”
