Early Legacy Fighting Championship 18 card released; Derrick Lewis and Macaco to defend titles in Houston

HOUSTON, TX, December 17, 2012 – Earlier today Legacy Fighting Championship released their initial fight card for the Legacy Fighting Championship 18 event scheduled for March 1, 2013 and airing LIVE on AXS TV.

Taking place at the Arena Theatre as usual when the Mick Maynard-run fight promotion is in town, Legacy Fighting Championship 18 will feature a heavyweight title fight as champion Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis will defend his title for the very first time since winning it against Jarrod Rosholt against another top grappler Gracie Barra BJJ black belt Ricky Shivers.

Also in championship action, lightweight champ and Brazilian legend Jorge “Macaco” Patino will be defending his belt at 155 lbs. against Marshall, TX native Derrick Krantz – who is coming off a first round drubbing of DFW native Charles Byrd just last weekend at Legacy Fighting Championship 16 in Allen, TX.

As for the rest of the card, it features a mix of vets and prospects.

A flyweight bout featuring another world class grappler in Rafael “Barata” De Freitas of New Mexico against UFC vet Antonio Banuelos takes third billing on the card while an exciting middleweight clash featuring Larry Crowe and Bubba Bush is also set for this event.
