Robert Drysdale complete the submission to win by first round armbar over Chris Reed.

HOUSTON, TX, November 17, 2012 – It was a fight night full of finishes last night at the Arena Theater as Houston played host to the latest edition of Mick Maynard’s Legacy Fighting Championship.

Legacy Fighting Championship 15 was highlighted by a main event clash pitting local fan favorite and Nassau Bay Chris Reed taking on the highly-touted prospect out of Las Vegas, Robert Drysdale.

The 44 year old Reed was a -2000 underdog on betting sheets prior to the fight and the ending was no surprise as Drysdale quickly took his opponent down and advanced position before taking home the first round armbar submission victory in the final fight of the evening.

Meanwhile in the co-main event, Austin’s own beloved “Ghost” Nick Gonzalez will be going back up HW290 with a victory after outpointing Houstonian Ray Blodget in their lightweight bout. The longtime veteran used his K-1 and pro boxing pedigree to run away with the decision in their three round bout.

The rest of the main card results may have proved to be an excellent building block for the future for the Legacy organization as four up-and-coming prospects picked up some much needed wins in front of the nationally televised audience watching on AXS TV.

Thomas de Almeida rocks Cody Williams with the elbow to secure his KO win.

Regional prospects Angel Huerta, Bubba Bush, Charlie Ontiveros, and Matt Schnell all performed well in dominating their fights.

Likewise, newcomer Thomas de Almeida from Gold Team / Chute Boxe also introduced himself to the circuit in thrilling fashion with a devastating elbow knockout of Beaumont’s Cody Williams in the first round of their bout. With this win, de Almeida now brings his undefeated record to 6-0 and should be a title-contending force if he’s to come back to compete in Legacy’s bantamweight division.

Stay tuned in the coming days as we go over these results and analyze the ramifications of this card in further detail.
