CDM’s Elite Amateur Combat 4 Results, Recap, and Photo Gallery; Two new champions crowned in Houston

HOUSTON, TX, November 6, 2012– CDM Promotions held their latest amateur MMA event this past Saturday with Elite Amateur Combat 4 at the Texas Tornadoes Training Center in the Copperfield area of Northwest Houston.

Led by community activist and boxing training Reynaldo Rueda, Mozell Darthard Jr, Fred Crowe, Greg Brown, and others, CDM Promotions (EAC) was initially founded as an offshoot of the CDM Boxing Association and the CDM Community Center.

As outlined by Rey Rueda in this initial TXMMA interview, the goal for all the CDM organizations is to provide an outlet for at-risk youth to stay off the streets through training and participation in combative sports events. Likewise, they’ve also benefitted the Houston Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) community on a whole as well by giving plenty of debuting and more experienced fighters yet another avenue for showcasing their developing skills before attempting to step into competition at a pro level.

This past Saturday with Elite Amateur Combat 4 marked their fourth event since beginning operations in December 2011.

This time around, the promotion crowned two new champions with two longtime Houston MMA amateur veterans winning titles.

In the main event, flyweight fighter Jacob Silva of Silverback Fight Club earned his third amateur title by besting CDM’s Luis Deleon by third round TKO. Silva has previously held belts in both the Legacy Amateur Series and Garcia Promotions to date and this win marks another step closer to the pro ranks for him as he simultaneously works towards his goal of becoming a full-time firefighter.

Likewise, another longtime amateur vet gained a title in the lightweight division as Edgar Juarez of Paradigm Training Center won a hard-fought decision over Jamison Brown of Fit & Fearless MMA. This victory now brings his record to 5-2 in the amateur ranks but no word yet on whether he plans on turning pro anytime soon.

Below are full results and photo gallery from last Saturday night in Northwest Houston.
