Fight to Win’s Seth Daniels talks 2012 Europa; F2W/WGC expecting record tournament turnout in Dallas

DALLAS, TX, July 19, 2012 – The 2012 Europa Get Fit & Sports Expo is quickly coming up with the mega-event coming to the Dallas Convention Center on August 17-18.

For those of you that aren’t too familiar with the event, basically it can best be described as a sports and fitness extravaganza. If it’s something that falls anywhere within those categories, chances are it will be there. From bodybuilding competitions to crossfit, cheerleading, MMA, and a multitude of different competitions, car shows, and a million other cool things going on and vendors to visit, chances are if it can be related to fitness or sporting life, it will probably be a part of the 2012 Europa Get Fit & Sports Expo convention.

One of the major events coming back this year as part of this years’ super event will be the 2012 Europa / Torque Championships –the official Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling tournament of the Europa Expo.

Managed by Seth Daniels and Brett Boyce of Fight to Win / World Grappling Circuit, this event is expected to be the largest tournament they’ve ever run.

Now that’s a high estimation considering 863 registrants participated in this same tournament last year in addition to the typically high numbers they do for the rest of their annual circuit in Texas and beyond but they’re not optimistic without reason.

We spoke to Seth about this recently.

“This is Texas’ largest super show when it comes to the fitness side of things and just like last year, we’re expecting the same thing with the tournament also. We are expecting over 1,000 competitors from all over the country this time and it should be really cool for everybody. Competitors will not only have the ability to compete at the largest Texas tournament of the year they will also be able to meet famous fitness celebrities and MMA stars, and walk out with over $500 in supplements.”

As an added incentive to top last year’s head count, the 2012 Europa / Torque Championships will be giving away even more money this time around – cash in hand for those that perform well.

“We have doubled the cash prizes,” said Seth. “We are giving away $10,000 in real cash prizes. Not samurai swords, not free registration for life, but $10,000 IN CASH! Everybody has a chance to win too. White belts, lightweights, whoever… There’s even $3,000 in team championship prizes plus we are giving out some awesome awards and we’ll be running up to 20 mats plus and having an elevated championship mat so the tournament will run as smoothly and efficiently as possible for everybody. We’re truly excited and think this is going to be awesome.”

“The goal is to give everyone a chance to win a good amount of money. With the amount of the prizes we are giving out we should see a huge turnout from all of the schools and truly be able to see who has the best teams are in Texas. We will see who the best white, blue, purple, brown and black belts are too. In addition, there is rarely ever an opportunity for teams, teens, and women to win prizes so we are very happy to be able to offer this to our grapplers.”

“So far with a month to go, we are getting some great feedback. The tournament and the entire Europa Expo is going to be epic and I’m so excited to see everyone come in , compete, put it on the line for some big money and have fun with everything else going on. My wife Lauren Sugihara aka “DJ MS. VICIOUS” is also spinning at the LEGACY 13 show that’s part of the convention on the night before the tournament. Those fights are cool and Mick’s a great promoter. That’s just another event competitors can enjoy to take some stress off before they roll. With that and our competition and everything else that’s going on, this thing is going to be great for everyone.”
