LEGACY 12 Update – Will Campuzano vs. Chad Robichaux; Robo pulls out fight citing medical reasons

HOUSTON, TX, July 13, 2012 – Bad news surrounding tonight’s LEGACY 12 event in Houston as it is now confirmed that the planned main event featuring Will Campuzano and Chad Robichaux is now off altogether.

The planned flyweight title bout was set to proceed as a non-title bout after Robichaux failed to make the 125 lbs. limit yesterday at the LEGACY 12 Weigh-Ins. Looking very much worse for wear, Robo weighed in at 127 lbs. after arriving to the weigh-in venue over an hour late to step onto the scale.

Chad Robichaux released a statement via Facebook late last night:

“Guys. Just was released from the hospital. I was it cleared by the fight doctor today to compete without further examination. Then the Doctor at the hospital gave an absolute no way to compete as well and put me on some strong antibiotics and pain meds. I took a cat scan and blood / urine labs. I had a small kidney stone, and a serious kidney infection with some inflammation in my kidneys.

I’m very sorry to everyone and thank you for your support. I feel I did my diet and weight cut process perfect. Not sure where this came from other than maybe God’s plan.

Will Campuzano, impressed me by handling the situation like a class act professional, so did the Legacy and AXS TV staffs. I’ll be cheering on the event. I’m truly regretful and sorry guys. Will and I trained hard and it is sad to see the match not happen”

With the planned main event now out of the equation, it’s assumed that one of the top undercard bouts will now be moved to the AXS TV broadcast.
