June 8, 2012 – MMA fans have another UFC event on tap tonight with UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall set to take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
This card features a rematch up top between top 125 lbs. contenders “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson and “Uncle Creepy” Ian McCall. The two originally faced off as part of the 4-man UFC Flyweight Tournament semi-finals this past March in a bout that was ruled a majority draw. Lightning shouldn’t strike twice so this bout should decide who gets to face Joseph Benavidez to crown the UFC’s first flyweight champion.
The rest of the card features 11 bouts 11 additional bouts between Facebook and the two FOX cable outlets – FX and FUEL.
Interesting to note that only one of these fights feature fighters above 170 lbs – a light heavyweight matchup between Caio Magalhaes and Buddy Roberts.
The rest are with the lighter guys so expect tonight to load up on fast-paced action where it may lack in name value.
