A welterweight semi-final bout David Rickels vs. Karl Amoussou and a heavyweight tournament qualifier between Ron Sparks and Kevin Asplund round out the televised card for MTV 2.
As for the undercard, a notable welterweight bout between unbeaten Russian prospect Andrey “Spartan” Koreshkov and Marshall, Texas native Derrick Krantz should be one to watch out for.
The 21 year old Russian has been highly-touted since debuting in Bellator with a spectacular KO of Tiawan Howard this past March. The 21 year old also holds a TKO victory over former TUF contestant / UFC fighter Kyacey Uscola from earlier in his young career.
Meanwhile, the Texan “D-Rock” is coming off an impressive win of his own after finishing Eric Scallan by armbar in the first round in his own Bellator debut earlier on in March. That victory snapped a two-fight losing streak for the East Texan will be looking to continue that momentum against the undefeated Russian.
Also of note for the lone star state on this card is the second Bellator appearance for 21 year old Rusk, TX native Booker Arthur.
A veteran of the Shreveport-based Ascend Combat organization, Arthur had a lengthy amateur career before going pro in March 2012 and winning his first two fights. He lost his most recent outting to unbeaten Kurt Holobaugh and will be taking on another undefeated prospect this Friday in the form of former NCAA wrestler Shanon Slack – who happens to also be serving as one of Dominick Cruz’s assistant coaches on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter: Live.
Bellator 69 will be broadcast LIVE on the MTV2 network starting at 7 p.m. CST this Friday night with the prelims also being broadcast LIVE and free online at Spike.com starting at 6 p.m. CST.
