Legacy Fighting Championship 11 features established veterans and rising stars this Friday night in Houston

Will Gerald Harris be able to land one of his trademark slams on Mike "The Greek" Bronzoulis?

HOUSTON, TX, May 7, 2012 – It’s professional fight week here in the Bayou City with Legacy Fighting Championship 11 scheduled to air LIVE on HDNet from the Houston Arena Theater this Friday at 8PM EST / 9 PM Central.

The main card has undergone some changes in the past few weeks. That much isn’t a surprise in the volatile world that is MMA matchmaking. What’s resulted though is actually a pleasant surprise as what fans have been left with may just be one of the more intriguing LFC cards in recent memory.

To this writer, that’s not just another piece of hyperbole but a legitimate fact considering the fighters and matchups that have made the main (and hopefully final) card.

Gone are Marcus Aurelio (licensing issues) and Jamie Varner (bolted to the UFC but Gerald “Hurricane” Harris and Evan Cutts have taken their places against Mike Bronzoulis and Lee King respectively.

The 32 year old “Hurricane” Harris will be making his second trip into the LFC cage after winning a decision over Eric “Big Head” Davila at LFC 10. He’ll now take on “The Greek,” a fighter surely hungry to step into the cage after weight issues (his opponent’s, not his) caused his fight to drop at LFC 10.

Meanwhile, Fitness Fight Factory’s Evan Cutts will be fighting at Legacy for the first time as a pro after scoring the biggest win of his young career last September at ProElite against Reagan Penn this past November. He’ll be facing a much more experienced challenge this time around in the 30+ fight veteran kickboxer King.

Aside from those matchups, there’s still a couple of veterans going at it with former LFC champion Chad Robichaux taking on UFC vet Joseph Sandoval and current 170 lbs. champ Jorge “Macaco” Patino looking to earn his 2nd belt with the organization. He’ll be taking on another fighter taking a bout on short notice in Clay Hantz who steps in for Jesus Rivera due to injury.

Will Houston's "Chosen One" Angel Huerta continue his rise to the top at the expense of DFW's Nelson Salas?

The televised lineup is rounded out by a trio of bouts featuring some up-and-coming fighters looking to earn some recognition on the national scene.

All in all, lots of fights to be excited about in Houston this Friday night. Make sure to tune in or show up live in Houston for this oen.
