HOUSTON, TX, April 27, 2012 – Continuing their recent trend of announcing acquisitions, Legacy Fighting Championship made yet another exciting one recently in the form of bring together tough Brazilian females Carina Damm (17-6) and Claudia Gadelha (7-0). The two will face off against one another at the Legacy FC 13 event schedule for the Europa Expo in Dallas, TX on August 17th.

A native of Vila Velha, Brazil, 33 year old Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm has already had a lengthy career fighting since 2004 but continues to persevere in order to one day crack that very top level of female fighters in the world. Thus far, the BJJ black belt sister to fellow fighter and TUF Brazil contestant Rodrigo Damm has compiled a 17-6 record in MMA while fighting some of the best in the world, including Hitomi Akano, Jessica Aguilar, and Tara LaRosa. Her most significant career win so far remains a victory over Agular in Bodog Fight back in 2007.  More recently she’s lost to some of the other names mentioned (3 in a row vs. LaRosa, Cat Zingano, and Akano) but she has rebounded with two wins in her two most recent contests.

Heading to Legacy, Carina will look to make it a hat trick but it won’t be easy considering she’ll have a very tough task in front of her in the one known as “The Arm Collector.”

A beloved teammate of Midland-based Nova União Texas head instructor Bruno Bastos, Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha has long been thought of as one of the top female prospects worldwide. The 23 year old won her first six contests in the sport before taking a two year layoff due to a medical condition. Coming back only recently, just last weekend in Canada, Claudinha was able to knock some of the rust off with a split decision victory but is now looking to accelerate her ascent to the top by taking on her toughest opponent yet in her fellow countrywoman.

The two will now join a LFC / Europa card that will also feature a heavyweight championship bout between Jared “Big Show” Rosholt and Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis.
