VICTORIA, TX, April 23, 2012 – STFC marked its twentieth event overall with a fun-filled night of exciting fights in Victoria, TX this past Saturday night. Fans at the Victoria Community Center Grounds were treated to seven fights in total at STFC 20 with the main event featuring Corpus Christi police officer Corey Bellino (Paragon / FCFA) winning out over Austin’s Andre Kavanaugh (Monolith Training Center) by TKO in the second round to move to 6-1 overall in his pro career.
Bellino had previously mentioned in his TXMMA pre-fight interview that he was looking ahead to a middleweight title fight with current champ Frank Trevino should he get past his opponent this past Saturday. Having fought since 2008 and after having dispatched of Kavanaugh in addition to Matt Jones and Sean Ward is his previous two STFC contests, it might be time for the experienced 37 year old to get the call against the undefeated champion who currently stand at 8-0 (with 7 finishes) after fighting his entire career on the South Texas scene.
In the co-main event of the evening, 20 year old Daniel Lloyd moved to 3-1 overall in his first fight for STFC after beating San Antonio’s Marcelo Lumakang in hard-fought three round decision.
The rest of the card saw some other young prospects move up with some well-earned victories, including BTT’s Matt Jones who picked up a TKO in round one for his efforts after practically living in the gym on the way to his fight with Josh Trevino.
