HOUSTON, TX, April 20, 2012 – According to reports this morning, undefeated Dallas area-based heavyweight Jared Rosholt (4-0) is the latest young prospect to sign with the Mick Maynard-ran Legacy Fighting Championship. In recent months the promotion has signed burgeoning young talents like UFC vet Joseph Sandoval and top submission grappler Robert Drysdale to go along all the homegrown talent they’ve been cultivating in Houston. Now they can add their largest signing yet (literally, anyways) in the undefeated “Big Show.”

The younger brother of UFC vet Jake Rosholt, Jared also wrestled for Oklahoma State University during his NCAA career. He was a 2010 NCAA I national runner up and three time All-American during his tenure. Currently fighting for Team Takedown in Arlington, Jared’s highest profile fight so far was on the HDNet-televised Titan Fighting Championship 18 event back in May of last year. He will make his return to the network with Legacy debut being aired on August 17th from Dallas (LFC 13).

Taking on Rosholt in his first Legacy bout will be a formidable opponent in Houston-based Bellator veteran Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis (7-2). Fighting out of Silverback Fight club, Lewis recently picked up a win over Justin Frazier on the Sherdog-televised RFA 2 event held in Nebraska just last month. He also holds a notable win over ProElite fighter Ryan Martinez and remains the heavyweight champion for the Denver-based Fight to Win organization.

The two will now fight for the Legacy heavyweight title along with perhaps the mythical title of best up-and-coming heavyweight in Texas.
