“I’m glad he stepped up and wanted to fight,” said Sampson about his opponent. “He’s a game opponent and a tough guy but I will get my hand raised at the end of the fight. “
Heading into this Friday’s fight, Jason is excited to showcase what he feels has been a really good training camp heading into his ninth bout. With weight not being a concern and injuries not being a problem (any more than usual, at least – as with any fighter), all he’s focused on now is getting into the cage and making sure he delivers a memorable performance in front of what should be an enthusiastic crowd in attendance in Frisco.
“It’s a great opportunity for what we hope turns out to be one of the biggest events in Texas and I’m just glad to be a part of it,” he says of the card. “I did a lot more different types of training for this fight because I didn’t know who I was going to fight for awhile (before getting matched up with Montoya). I can guarantee that I’ll be a better fighter than I was the last time I fought him. It’s not going to stop. I’ll be getting better and better with each fight.
Asked who would win and how, Sampson was simple in his prediction.
I don’t like predicting fights but I can say you’ll see me getting my hand raised and getting the win. I will be 9 and 0.
