Universal Fight Game League Premiers in Dallas with Impressive Fight Card on December 2nd

DALLAS, TX, November 16, 2011 – A new promotional group is bringing a top MMA card to the DFW Metroplex early next month with the premier of the Universal Fight Game League. A byproduct of the Fight Game brand, this fledgling fight league aims to be an integral part of the organization’s strategy of combining the world of MMA, gaming, fashion, and beyond to create an all-encompassing lifestyle experience for fighters and fans of the world’s fastest growing sport.

Set to take place in Frisco’s Dr. Pepper Arena on Friday, December 2nd, the current rendition of the premier fight card for Universal Fight Game League features both longtime Texas veterans and top up-and-coming national prospects from all over Texas and beyond.

In the main event of the evening, West Virginia transplant Sean Spencer (aka “Black Magik”) looks to rebound over Longview’s “D-Rock” Derrick Krantz. A student of UFC/Pride veteran Guy Metzger, Spencer was last seen dropping a tough loss at Albuquerque’s MMA Fight Pit event this past August. Meanwhile, Derrick Krantz will look to make his return to the cage since dropping a decision to current Strikeforce fighter Brian Melancon at the Legacy Fighting Championship 5 in Houston this past January. Stylistically speaking, both these men are hard-hitting ground-and-pound specialists so expect an exciting bout in this one that could spell a promising future for whichever fighter comes out on top.

Speaking of promising futures and exciting prospects, the co-main event also features a little bit of both in Mohler MMA instructor Jason Sampson taking on Jackson MMA fighter Josh Montoya. Recently thought of as one of the top bantamweights in Texas, Sampson will be entering this bout with an eye on impressing Sean Shelby and the rest of the UFC brass as he looks to make his way towards the octagon. In order to get there, he’ll have to make it past a tough opponent in Leyva, a six-year veteran of the US Marine Corps with a tough reputation honed while competing in Jackson’s MMA Series out in New Mexico.

As for the rest of the Universal Fight Game League card, it looks to be filled in large majority by fighters who have at least a minimum of 3 fights with a winning record, 15+ fights overall, or in at several cases both. Prominent fighters who fit that bill include Elite XC veteran Bubba McDaniel and WEC/Legacy vet Eric Schambari. They’ll be taking on each other on this card while Austin-based Matt Thompson also makes an appearance against Clay’s older brother Jason Guida. Another exciting

Other interesting bouts include a battle of Louisianans prospects in Kalvin “Hot Boy” Hackney taking on the Tim Credeur-trained Eric Scallan, Shark Fights vet Douglas Frey taking on Legacy FC vet Tim Snyder, and much more.

Tickets for this event are available through Ticketmaster or at the Dr. Pepper Arena Box Office.

Below is the official card as it stands now with a few fights still yet to be decided. Stay tuned here on TXMMA.com for in-depth insight and full coverage on this event as it nears.
