The Texas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling Scene – 2011 in Photos (So Far)

November 7, 2011 – It’s  been one heck of a year on the Texas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu  and Grappling Scene so far!

Throughout the course of 2011 we’ve seen more schools and top competitors develop than ever before at all levels across the state. Along with that, we’ve also seen some very exciting tournament action all year long with promoters putting on more events than ever before!

Keep in mind the year’s not over by a long shot with great events like the Lonestar State Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Nov. 12, Dallas), 2011 Texas Open (Nov. 19, Houston) and Abu Dhabi World Pro Trials (Nov. 26-27, San Antonio), and more still yet to happen across the state. We’ll definitely be at a few of these events and you can check our TXMMA Calendar for a full listing of tourneys and happenings but in the meantime, we thought we’d share some of these shots from the year so far just  to illustrate the level of grappling that’s been going on in Texas this year!

You call also catch many more shots (from all ranks/levels) on our TXMMA Facebook Page along with some more of my own personal favorites on Facebook.

Special thanks to top organizations like Fight to Win, World Grappling  Circuit, Grand Prix Grappling, Grapplers Quest, the IBJJF, and more who’ve allowed me to shoot photos for them and bring these shots to you. Below are some of our favorite photos from 2011, in no particular order. I/We hope you enjoy them all!
