Raul “Gaucho” Jimenez Falls to Submission on Short Notice in Port Alegre, Brazil

HOUSTON, TX, November 1, 2011 – Team Gaucho’s Raul Jimenez (2-2) recently made the trip down to Port Alegre, Brazil on just four days notice to take on Carlos “Cachorrao” Eduardo (6-2) of Nova Uniao at the Kumite MMA Combate event held in Gigantinho Gymnasium.

Recently promoted to BJJ brown belt by Gold Team’s Jorge “Macaco” Patino, Raul tried mightily against his formidable opponent before succumbing to the first round submission. With this win, “Cachorrao” now moved to 6-2, with his only two losses being by DQ (illegal kick) and legit KO against none other than UFC champion Jon “Bones” Jones. We should be able to expect big things from him. As for “Gaucho,” surely we’ll expect to see him back in short order as he is an active competitor on the Texas grappling scene.
