Battle of H-Town Superfight – Gustavo Carpio versus Pablo Silva to Headline in Houston this Saturday

Gustavo Carpio (Marra Senki)

HOUSTON, TX, October 25, 2011 – We now have final word on the BJJ Black Belt Superfight set to headline this Saturday’s Battle of H-Town BJJ Championship in Houston as it will be Gustavo Carpio representing Marra Senki BJJ and San Antonio, TX against Pablo Silva, who is representing Gracie Barra Texas and the city of Houston in a 155 clash for the spectators in attendance.

A busy belt competitor in top tournaments within Texas and all around the nation, Gustavo Carpio is a noted spider guard expert. His most recent accomplishments in 2011 include taking home two silver medals from the IBJJF Phoenix, gold at IBJJF Dallas, and another silver at the Europa Fight World Championships.

Pablo Silva (Gracie Barra)

As for his opponent, Pablo Silva has also been a busy competitor while competing under GB’s Belo Horizonte team under his coach Marcelo Azevedo, himself a black belt under Houston’s Vinicius ‘Draculino’ Magalhães. His most noted accomplishments include a world championship 2010 to go along with his European Championship in 2009 and a laundry list of medals in Brazil competing as a purple, brown, and black belt from 2007 to present.

With both these competitors favoring the open guard, it should be a very technical affair and one to watch for spectators on hand.
