August 5, 2011 – We’re not quite sure if Jason “Mayhem” Miller will ever return to deliver another season of “Bully Beatdown” since he’s returned to the UFC to coach opposite Michael Bisping on the fourteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show that debuts on Spike TV on September 14th.
Be that as it may, the genre of bullies getting their just desserts courtesy of MMA’s finest on cable TV is alive and well as it was recently announced that Fuel TV will be debuting a show called “Punk Payback” starring none other than former UFC Champion and 3x King of Pancase Bas Rutten.
The upcoming show is scheduled to join the Fuel TV lineup on Wednesday, November 2nd at 8:30PM CST and will feature Bas giving a comedic take on self-defense by offering viewers some street fighting tips to avoid getting “punked” on the streets. Using real surveillance footage of frightening scenarios such as carjackings and convenience store holdups as the baseline, Rutten will then offer reenactments to show viewers some options on how to get out of these dangerous situations. Based on his amusing personality and subject matter expertise on “Lethal Street Fighting” situations, “Punk Payback” should make for quite the interesting self-defense show.
“Bas Rutten is one of the most charismatic characters I’ve ever met and he can fill up a TV screen all by himself,” says George Greenberg, FUEL TV Executive Vice President and GM. “We’re happy to bring him to FUEL TV with this exciting and fun show that mixes humor into educational survival situations. If a punk starts it, rest assured, Bas will finish it every time.”
