Houston Fighters Move Up in Latest FightMatrix Rankings; 4OZ Fighter Daniel Pineda Now #34 in the World

HOUSTON, TX, July 29, 2911 – Fresh off the heels of his Legacy FC 7 submission victory over Jackson MMA’s Frank Gomez, Houston’s Daniel Pineda is now ranked #34 in the world according to the latest FightMatrix rankings, updated 7/25/11. With a record of 14-7 overall and riding a four-fight win steak (all finishes), “The Pit” is now ranked above veterans such as Joe Stevenson, Wilson Reis, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, Ronnie Mann, and a plethora of other notable fighters so a big congratulations to the IV Ounce fighter.

In related news, Metro Fight Club’s Carlo Prater also moves up 18 spots to #56 by virtue of his Legacy FC 7 win over Cameron Dollar and his own three-fight win streak, all submission victories. Dollar was thought to be his stiffest challenge yet in recent days having won his own five bouts (two over UFC vets) but “Neo” passed with flying colors, submitting the Colorado resident via kimura in the third to seal the second round victory. With that, Prater is now ranked above notable fighters like Patricky Freire, Toby Imada, and Charles Oliviera.

Other Houston area fighters making the latest edition of the FightMatrix rankings are Artenas Young (#91 at 185), Steve Garcia (#123 at 135), Todd Moore (#142 at 170), Mike Bronzoulis (#170 at 170), Andrew Craig (#161 at 185), Adam Schindler (#170 at 145), Brian Melancon (#198 at 170), Chad Robichaux (#145 at 135), Jon Kirk (#165 at 205),  Ike Villanueva (#227 at 205), and Justin Reiswerg (#450 at 155)
