Preview – UFC Fan Expo Houston, October 7-8

HOUSTON, TX, July 27, 2011 – The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced a few months ago that the UFC FAN EXPO would be coming to town along with UFC 136 when the promotion makes its return to the Houston area in October.

As seen in our post on UFC 136 awhile back, this event is shaping up to be a Texas-sized event with no less than two title fights with Frankie Edgar v. Gray Maynar III joining José Aldo v. Kenny Florian as the co-main events of what should be a mega-event downtown at the Toyota Center on October 8th.

Leading up to that event, Texas fight fans will have a chance to participate in the two-day Fan Expo at the nearby George R. Brown Convention Center in front of Discovery Green Park.

The UFC Fan Expo experience will features meet and greets with some of today’s UFC and Strikeforce stars along with legends from the Pride FC days of lore. MMA demonstrations, social events, training sessions, and even a BJJ tournament put on by Grappler’s Quest will also be featured as part of what should be an MMA Superbowl Weekend experience here in Houston. They’re offering a whole slew of sponsorship prize packages and are already taking registration so check out the tournament info here.

Local exhibitors are already lining up to be featured at the event as well. As of now, we know Armbar Submission Gear, a friend of TXMMA.com, will have a booth. We’ll keep you posted on other local companies planning to have a presence at the event as we here from them.

For now, check out this UFC preview video on all the upcoming festivities set to hit H-Town in a few months time!
