TXMMA Technique of the Week – Masakazu Imanari’s No-GI Leglocks!

July 28, 2011 – Forgive our lack of mastery over the Japanese language with this explanation (or lack thereof) with this week’s techniques featuring Japanese leglock master Masakazu Imanari.

Fighting out of Team Roken in Kanagawa, Japan, Imanari san has over ten years of MMA experience with fourteen out of his twenty-three wins coming by way of submission. His nickname, “Ashikan Judan,” literally means “10th Dan of Leglocks” in English. I guess that means if anyone’s qualified to teach leglocks, it would have to be him …unless of course, you live in the DFW area. In that case, go and find Kenny McClure or Brandon Quick.

Either way, let’s all use our eyes to try and decipher the details in the various moves Imanari demonstrates in the video below. Feel free to comment on any important details that should be highlighted and we’ll add it in to this post.
