Team Takedown’s Rosholt Brothers Added to Titan Fighting Championship 18; Fights to air LIVE on HDNet this Friday!

May 25, 2011 – Jake and Jared Rosholt of Arlington’s Team Takedown have been added to this Friday’s Titan Fighting Championship 18 card, set for LIVE broadcast on HDNet (9PM CST) after Rory Markham and Drew McFedries were both deemed unable to compete due to injury/outside commitments.

“We were extremely disappointed when the management for Drew and Rory informed us of the news,” stated Titan CEO Joe Kelly. “However, this is the fight business, and having promoted fights since the age of 24, I’ve dealt with a lot of hurdles in promoting shows. While losing Drew and Rory from the show hurts, we took the news in stride. I am very excited that the fans in attendance at Memorial Hall and those watching live on HDNet are going to see two future stars in this sport step up on short notice and test themselves.”

Despite the quick turnaround, both Jared and Jake Rosholt should be in excellent shape for Friday’s event as both were last seen competing just this past weekend at the Cowboy MMA – Caged Cowboys event in Ponca City, Oklahoma. At that event, both former Oklahoma State wrestling stars used that pedigree to win convincingly in their fights, with Jake submitting John Malbrough of Houston and Jared taking out Missouri-native Ray Clayton.

It’s been a long road for the older brother, Jake Rosholt, who entered the MMA world with five straight wins as one of the most highly-touted prospects to enter MMA after a standout wrestling career at OSU. Despite limited training time, Jake experienced mixed success going 1-2 in the UFC prior to his current streak of bouts where he’s looked to win his way back to the big show with experience on the regional circuit. A win on the HDNet-televised card over John Ott (8-8) would mark his fifth in a row on his quest to get back to the UFC for the first time since a submission loss to Kendall Grove at UFC 106 in 2009.

Speaking of big shows, Jared “The Big Show” Rosholt will be looking for his third MMA win against Kirk Grinlinton (2-2) after following in his brothers’ footsteps. Also an All-American wrestler from OSU, the 23-year-old has been tearing things up in the submission grappling world in preparation to take his fighting career further.
