Bellator ‘Summer Series’ Round One Announced; Schindler draws Ronnie Mann!

May 23, 2011 – Bellator release their ‘Summer Series’ round one matchups today and it looks like  it’s Shark Fights Featherweight Champion and British Standout Ronnie “Kid Ninja” Mann for Houstonian Adam Schindler in the first round of Bellator’s “Summer Series” tournament, with the winner moving on towards a chance to take on current champion Joe Warren for the title and $100,000 later in the year.

The first round will take place in Hollywood, FL on June 25th at Bellator 46 in an event set to air LIVE on MTV2.

Bellator ‘Summer Series’ Tournament Lineup

• Marlon Sandro vs. Genair da Silva
• Pat Curran vs Luis Palomino
• Ronnie Mann vs. Adam Schindler
• Nazareno Malegarie vs.Jacob Devree

* Also on this card will be Silverback Fight Club’s  Derrick “Black Beast” Lewis, who will be taking on Tony Johnson Jr. and a yet to be officially announced matchup that will serve as a qualifier bout towards next season’s heavyweight tournament. (note: Lewis was originally set to fight Brazilian Thiago Santos at Bellator 42 but that bout was scrapped due to a knee injury incurred by Santos leading up to the bout.)

* Matchups featuring Josh Samman vs. Mike Bernhard, and Jessica Aguilar, and Carla Esparza taking on TBD opponents round out the Bellator 46 undercard.
