May 12, 2011 – Bryan Beaver of Fight for Faith Ministries recently confirmed to us what could be the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Superfight in Texas this year between multiple-time World Champion André Galvão of of Team Atos and Carlos Diego Ferreira of Arsenal Jiu-Jitsu.

This matchup will take place at the upcoming non-profit Fight for Faith Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Sportlifting Competition, set for June 18th in Katy, TX and should serve as an added treat for Texas BJJ’ers and No-Gi grapplers decided to partake in that competition benefiting charity.

For those of you uninitiated to the accomplishments of these two grappling superstars – here is a quick look at their accomplishments.

The special guest for the tournament, André Galvão, was originally a black belt student under BJJ Legend Fernando “Terere” Augusto and a multiple-time world, Pan-Am, and ADCC medalist. Currently based in San Diego, Galvão started training in 1999 and has been recognized as one of the most dynamic competitors in the world since then. A native of Manaus, Brazil, Carlos Diego has won including a recent 1st place finish in the Absolute Division at the IBJJF Dallas Open to go along with 1st plce finishes at the Texas State Championships and the Austin Open, just to name a few of his more recent accomplishments.
