Sean Shakour versus Joseph Sandoval

Round One: Shakour went on the offensive early, garnering a takedown and moving to the body triangle. The California fighter attacked with punches and hammerfists but Sandoval defended well, not opening up for the choke. The round finished with Sandoval rolling into guard. 10-9 round for Shakour.

Round Two: The second stanza started similar to the first as Shakour went for the takedown, ending up in guard. Sandoval scores well with elbows and body punches to score some damage points and the round, 10-9 to the Texan.

Round Three: Momentum is now on Sandoval’s side as he is offering up more offensive with Shakour is playing the wrestling game, unsuccessfully. Sandoval starting to impose his will and landing. Towards the end of the round, Sandoval ends up mounted and finishes the fight with an exclamation point, scorring with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Result: Joseph Sandoval def. Sean Shakour via Unanimous Decision

Layne Hernandez versus Gabe Vasquez

Round One: Duck under single-leg by Hernandez to get the takedown. Immediately, Gabe Vasquez goes for an armbar in transition and it’s deep. It looks like he holds on to it for too long though as Hernandez escapes in superior position and works to the back. Works out of it but is now mounted as the round ends. Close round, 10-9 for Hernandez.

Round Two: Hernandez with the takedown and gets the back of Vasquez. Scrambles back to his feet after a leg lock attempt and scores a nice head kick. Vasquez now moving forward on the ground but no real damage or submission danger. Maybe a 10-9 round for Gabe Vasquez based on submission attempts.

Round Three: Huge left hand by Vasquez followed by a kick and Hernandez shoots in, neck with open. Vasquez latches on to the guillotine and pulls guard. It’s tight. Hernandez is out!

Result: Gabe Vasquez def. Layne Hernandez via Technical Submission Round 3 (Guillotine Choke)

Alex Cisne versus Eric Davila

Round One: Alex Cisne comes out showcasing his San Shou prowess early, controlling the tempo of the fight with good kicks to the body/legs while keeping Big Head off balance in the clinch with takedowns. Cisne with a standing rea-naked choke towards the end of the round but doesn’t finish. Great round for Cisne, 10-9.

Round Two: Alex attacking with kicks early and getting a takedown but Davila staying composed. Cisne starting to open up with combos until he is stopped in his tracks by a few right hands. It looks like he’s rocked big-time as the round ends. 10-9 for Cisne but he finishes the round in much danger.

Round Three: Davila on the receiving end of Alex Cisne’s punches but the big-headed one is patient and undeterred. He’s walking through the punches and lands a huge right hand again that has Cisne hurt. Davila’s turn now, clubbing Cisner with lefts and rights that drop Cisne and force the stoppage.

Result: Eric Davila def. Alex Cisne via TKO Round 3 (Punches)

Lucas Lopes versus Mike Bronzoulis

Round One: Bronzoulis was calling for a head-kick knockout in his pre-fight interview and true to his word, he went for one to start the fight, dropping Lopes momentarily. Mid-way through, Lopes lands a combo that has Mike B. covering against the ropes. Jumping knee by Lopes but Bronzoulis staying composed. Now moving forward is the Greek. Good back-and-forth on the round with both guys having their moments. I’d give this one to Lopes, 10-9.

Round Two: Both men busy but looking tired early in the second. Lopes stuffed on his takedown attempts for the most part. The two are exchanging punches but nothing lands too cleanly. Lopes’ nose is busted though and he’s bleeding out like a stuck pig. Both these guys might be spent. 10-9 round for Bronzoulis.

Round Three: Lopes the busier of the two early on in the round but Bronzoulis pushing forward. A few knees in the clinch for Bronzoulis and Lopes going for takedown and failing. Mike B. sprawled out on top of Lopes and peppering him to end the round. 10-9 round for Bronzoulis based on the judges’ cards.

Result: Mike Bronzoulis def. Lucas Lopes via Unanimous Decision

Tara LaRosa versus Carina Damm

Round One: The two fightes feeling each other out to start the round. Big flurry by LaRosa but Damm gets the clinch takedown and ends up mounting Tara. LaRosa rolls over into guard and throwing punches, eventually standing to pass/score more GNP. 10-9 round for LaRosa.

Round Two: Damm is dropped early. Heel hook exchange on the ground and LaRosa gets the better of it for the tap!

Result: Tara LaRosa def. Carina Damm via Submission Round 2 (Heel Hook)

Matt Horwich versus Danillo Villefort

Round One: Horwich moving forward but Villefort landing some good combinations. Takedown by Danillo but he lets Horwich back up. Good teep kick by Villefort. Horwich now going for the takedown but thrown himself for his efforts. Late takedown by Danillo and he’s well in control. 10-9 round.

Round Two: Villefort controlling the tempo now and gets a few takedowns while also winning on his feet. Villefort’s judo is really nullifying all the takedown attempts coming his way. Another 10-9 round for Danillo.

Round Three: Matt Horwich gets a takedown early but can’t do anything with it. Villefort with a knee-bar attempt but doesn’t finish. Now back on their feet, Villefort lands an elbow that cuts Horwich above his eye. Trip takedown puts Danillo on his back and the fight ends there. Easily another 10-9 round for Villefort.

Result: Danillo Villefort def. Matt Horwich via Unanimous Decision
