From Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos to the beautiful ring girls that represent at MMA events in Texas and all over the world, we want to bring these awesome women to the forefront and let them give our readers their take as MMA’s better half.
With that in mind, we last brought you our conversation with former UFC Ring Girl Natasha Wicks. Now, in concert with the Shark Fights 14 event set to air on HDNet tonight, we wanted to do something different and talk to one of the promotion’s beautiful Shark Angels today prior to the event.
Below is my quick conversation with the gorgeous Ashley Reeves out in Lubbock, TX. Ashley is a twenty-one year old co-ed at Texas Tech University majoring in Advertising and Mass Communications who also doubles as a Shark Angel for the Shark Fights promotion. Thanks for taking the time to shout out to all the Texas MMA fans out there Ashley! Have you been a fan of the sport for awhile?
How long have you been a Shark Angel for the Shark Fights promotion? What’s it been like for you so far?
I was just recently given the privilege to become a Shark Angel. I absolutely love working for Shark Fights because the staff is so great. The guys from Booyaa and Shark Fights have been amazing. It is an amazing opportunity and experience; I look forward to working with them in the future.
Any memorable moments of favorite fights so far in your MMA-related career?
A memorable moment for me would be when Anderson Silva knocked out Vitor Belfort in the first round with a front kick to the face. That was vicious!
What’s your ultimate goal in MMA?
My ultimate goal in MMA would be to win the Women’s Flyweight Title. Just kidding, the only time I will spend in the ring will be holding a card! I would be thrilled to one day become a UFC ring girl!
Outside of MMA, you’re an advertising / mass communications major at Texas Tech right? What do you hope to do with that once you get done with school?
What’s the best thing about college so far? What’s your favorite part about being a Red Raider?
The best thing about college so far would have to be the experience. I love meeting new people and having fun. Texas Tech is such a great school. The community is amazing and everyone is so friendly here. Football season is my favorite time of the year. The Red Raider Nation really comes through to make an excellent atmosphere.
Outside of MMA, what other sports/hobbies are you into?
Outside of MMA, I love watching football and tennis. In my spare time I model for Lubbock Models. You can check out my pictures at www.lubbockmodels.com. I love hanging out with friends, working out, traveling, and shopping.
If you could have any superpower on the planet, which power would you choose?
If I could pick any superpower on the planet it would be to have super speed like Flash.
What advice would you give men trying to land a Shark Angel or otherwise cool chick like you?
Just be yourself, girls love a nice genuine guy.
Any last words for your friends and fans?
I am so grateful for this opportunity to represent MMA, Shark Fights, Lubbock Models, and Booyah. Thank you to everyone who helped me make my dream come true!
