January 27, 2011 – We recently got word from IXFA promoter Chris Reed yesterday that would-be-challenger Chad Cook has been forced out of a February 26th IXFA title shot at light-heavyweight against current champion, “Hurricane” Ike Villanueva.

I spoke with IXFA Light Heavyweight Champion Ike Villanueva this morning to talk about the recent change and what he’d like to see happen regarding a potential opponent in his next bout on February 26th:

Ike, what do you think about Chad Cook pulling out of the fight?

About Chad, LMAO, I had a feeling something like that was gonna happen. I’ve been waiting a long time to put a beating on him but I just gotta move on. I don’t have time to wait.

IXFA promoter Chris Reed mentioned he was talking to several possible opponents to fill-in now that Chad is off the card. Anybody you want to fight in particular?

I know IXFA is working on finding me an opponent but everybody already knows I want Chico.

Why him? What do you think would go differently versus the first time you guys fought?

It’s time for revenge. This time, you gonna get a bigger and better Hurricane ready for war. After what I did to (Brian) Lightfoot, I think I should get that rematch, but this time with Chico, I will counter his wild hooks and knock his ass out very quick.

Well there you have it. Anything else you want to get off your chest bro?

Jut thanks to Prince Boxing. They have me ready. Now somebody make this fight happen.

Latest Update

1/27/11, 2:30PM – It looks like “Hurricane” will NOT get his wish to fight Artenas Young on the upcoming IXFA card as promoters have announced the signing of Lex Pappas for the upcoming title fight against Ike Villanueva on the next IXFA card. Training at Gold Team Texas under UFC/Pride Veteran and Chute Boxe member Jorge “Macaco” Patino, the 6’2 250 lbs fighter currently holds a 2-3 professional record after going undefeated in four fights as an amateur. “We are excited to see Lex in IXFA action,” says promoter Chris Reed, “he won’t disappoint the crowd!”
