Jeff Monson Seminar @ the XFC Training Center 2/24/09 (7:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
Jeff Monson is one of the world’s top submission grapplers and is coming into his own at the highest level of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). At 5 feet 9 inches tall, 240 pounds of solid muscle, and 36 years of age, he is taking MMA on both sides of the ocean by storm.
Jeff is one of the most recognized MMA athletes in the United States, and after his electrifying “Submission of the Night” win over the very capable Brandon Lee Hinkle at UFC 57, people in the MMA scene around the world are taking notice of him. And it’s no wonder. Jeff is coming off his 14th MMA win in a row, and he hasn’t lost a single match since 2002. Just imagine how good you can get in 3 or 4 years when you work as hard as Jeff does. His record of 24 wins and 6 losses includes 13 wins by submission. His fans the world over just witnessed him choke out and put Brandon Lee Hinkle to sleep on the biggest PPV event ever staged by the UFC, live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 4th of 2006. Monson fans saw the Snowman follow the Hinkle victory with a hard-fought win over Marcio “Pea Da Pano” Cruz in UFC 57 and his “Knockout of the Night” win over Anthony Perosh at UFC 61. He recently lost his title shot in UFC 65 against Tim Sylvia by decision, and is eager to train harder to get another chance.
Monson, a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, is a powerhouse in submission grappling. In both 1999 and 2005 he won the prestigious Abu Dhabi Submission Grappling World Tournament in the Heavyweight Division. He is a multiple event winner at NAGA, Grappler’s Quest, and the Budweiser Invitational, where he continues to compete. Monson is ready to issue a challenge to or accept a challenge from any fighter in the world.
