(Richardson, Texas) The North American Combative Sports Organization (NACSO) announced today that its next event will be held on Saturday October 12th at the ‘Fightatorium’ in Richardson, Texas. NACSO’s next event was originally slated to be held on Saturday September 28th, however NACSO’s Board of Governors made the decision to hold only one event in each of the remaining months for the year 2002. “With that schedule (one event per month) we’re on pace to end the year having hosted 16 shows…….that’s a lot of events for any organization, especially a new one like NACSO”, said Chuck Best, NACSO’s Chairman. Best continued, “We still have one more qualifying event to host this year (in addition to the regular events), probably in December; and then we will immediately begin the process of gearing-up for the NACSO Championships in early 2003. The growth of our organization has been wonderful, and we want to make sure that we give the proper amount of preparation to each event and ensure that the quality of each event is a priority over the quantity (or number) of events”. In it’s initial year, NACSO has gone from an upstart organization to one that now boasts over 300 competitors and trainers from 5 states, along with a mailing list of over 1000 kickboxing enthusiasts. Additionally, the organization now has 3 IKF National Title holders (Doyle Gayler, Kornelija Numic, & Cody Cook), and has been featured in The Dallas Morning News and on TXCN Sports.
