KINGWOOD, TX – On February 10th Bruce Sek, Tom McCusker, and a group of parents to pre-teen girl BJJ competitors put together a Girls Kumite at Kingwood’s Next Generation MMA. This followed the F2W Professional Jiu-Jitsu event held the night before at the Revention Center. Cora Sek competing on that while several of the other girls aged 11-14 competed earlier in the day at Tournament of Champions 17. With all looking for additional competition against girls in the same age group and weight class, that following day seemed like an opportune time to put something like this event.
The six girl round-robin was held under EBI Rules with Florida’s Jasmine Johnson winning in the final by submission over Cora Sek in the second match they’ve had, following their superfight at the last Jiu-Jitsu Outdoors event. Other competitors at this one included Alex Terrier, Savonnah Devoucoux, Kristen McCusker, and Mona Bailey.
